The top participants of the National Conference on Iranian Forests were honored at Lorestan University.

The top achievers of the 7th National Conference on Iranian Forests were honored during an official ceremony on Wednesday, December 5th, in the Shahid Soleimani Auditorium of Lorestan University. Furthermore, the scientific and executive staff of this national event were also appreciated.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this ceremony was held at the conclusion of the National Conference on Iranian Forests; a conference during which specialists, professors, and researchers in the field of natural resources discussed and examined the challenges and solutions for the conservation of the country's forests, especially the Zagros forests.

Introduction of the Conference's Top Scientific Achievers

During this ceremony, the authors of the selected papers of the 7th National Conference on Iranian Forests were introduced and honored:

1. Dr. Ahmad Beiranvand.

2. Engineer Seyed Emad Shahrokhi.

3. Dr. Omid Esmaeilzadeh.

4. Dr. Reza Siahmansour.

5. Dr. Maziar Heydari.

6. Engineer Donya Rahmani.

Remarks by the Executive Secretary

Dr. Seyed Vahid Seyedna, the Executive Secretary of the conference, presented a report on the planning process, scientific review, content implementation, and support of the conference, and expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of researchers from across the country.

In the final part of the ceremony, Ms. Nasrin Darvishi read the official statement of the conference; some of the statement's key points:

_ The vital role of forests in soil conservation, groundwater recharge, ecosystem balance, and the sustainability of the country's natural resources; forests are national wealth, and protecting them is a universal duty.

_ Social forestry was presented as a promising solution for the restoration and conservation of the Zagros forests; it was also emphasized that the role of water production should be at the center of every forest management program.

_ The necessity of developing alternative livelihood solutions for local communities, in a way that reduces people's dependence on the destruction of forest resources for their livelihoods.
