The "Necessity of Ecosystem Services Assessment in Protected Areas" Lecture was held.

On the occasion of Research and Technology Week, the Faculty of Natural Resources at Lorestan University, with a presentation by Dr. Parvaneh Sobhanipajouh, a faculty member of the Department of Environment, held a promotional scientific chair on the necessity of assessing ecosystem services in protected areas.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, the historical background and the importance of selecting protected areas in the country were discussed in this chair.

These areas, as repositories of habitat diversity and various species, play an unparalleled role in preserving nature and wildlife.

Subsequently, Dr. Sobhanipajouh addressed the importance of ecosystem services in these areas; services that play a key role in the lives of human communities and include natural resources, climate regulation, and natural beauty.

She emphasized that ecosystem-based management is essential to prevent unsustainable exploitation and achieve sustainable development in these areas.

One of the key points of this scientific chair was the necessity of management planning in protected areas, following the land-use management model.

This model helps regulate activities and sustainable use of ecosystem services, thereby preventing the destruction of natural resources.

Also, raising the awareness and participation of local communities about the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem services in these areas was presented as an effective solution for their protection.

According to Dr. Parvaneh Sobhanipajouh, only by engaging communities and strengthening their role in the conservation process can effective steps be taken to preserve these valuable areas.

The mentioned scientific chair was held with the aim of emphasizing the necessity of research and practical actions for the sustainable management of protected areas.
