Lorestan University's Faculty of Natural Resources, on the occasion of Natural Resources Week, which coincides with Public Environmental Education Day, held an environmental education workshop for a group of elementary school students who are the future builders and main protectors of the natural resources of this land.
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, in this regard, Dr. Ali Haghi Zadeh, Head of the Faculty of Natural Resources of Lorestan University, told our reporter: "This workshop was held with the aim of changing children's attitudes and behaviors towards natural resources and increasing their awareness about the importance of protecting nature, coinciding with the beginning of Natural Resources Week and the occasion of Arbor Day and Public Environmental Education Day."
Dr. Haghi Zadeh added: The educational workshop, under the supervision of Dr. Morteza Ghobadi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Natural Resources and the director of the Environmental House of Lorestan University, in collaboration with the facilitation team of the Environmental House, presented a set of environmental education topics to children. These included:
_ The importance of protecting natural resources and the environment.
_ The role of trees in reducing air pollution and preserving water resources.
_ Familiarity with native plant and animal species and the importance of preserving biodiversity.
_ The importance of water and soil as vital resources for life.
_ The challenges facing the environment in the future and the role of children in protecting it.
_ Simple but effective actions that children can take to protect natural resources and the environment.
Haghi Zadeh stated: In the workshop, students actively participated and learned environmental concepts in a tangible and engaging way. This program sought to empower children as small environmental ambassadors in families and the local community."
