A meeting to present an industry collaboration plan by a faculty member of the Faculty of Natural Resources, Lorestan University, was held.

A meeting was held to present the report of the industry collaboration project by Dr. Morteza Ghobadi, faculty member of the Faculty of Natural Resources, Lorestan University, with an emphasis on solutions to reduce flood damage.

According to the Public Relations Department of Lorestan University, a meeting was held to present the report of the industry collaboration project by Dr. Morteza Ghobadi, Associate Professor of the Environmental Engineering Department of the Faculty of Natural Resources, Lorestan University, entitled "Investigation and Study of Damages Caused by the 1998 Flood in Lorestan Province and Presentation of Solutions for Reducing and Eliminating Related Risks."

Based on the approach of expanding extra-university communications and interactions and conducting applied research, this project was implemented with the participation of the Lorestan Province Gas Company from October 2023 to July 2024 (9 months).

In this regard, Dr. Morteza Ghobadi told our reporter: "This research, using artificial intelligence and based on digital and georeferenced spatial information technology in the Geographic Information System (GIS) environment, assessed the flood risk in Lorestan province."

Dr. Ghobadi explained: "This research also proposed various structures and solutions for flood resistance. By adopting appropriate solutions, the dangers of floods can be significantly reduced, and serious incidents and financial and human losses can be prevented. The accurate and comprehensive implementation of these solutions requires investment and inter-sectoral cooperation and is proposed as a basis for future research in the field of resistance to natural hazards."

It is worth mentioning that the meeting was held in coordination with Reza Asareh, Head of the Industry and Entrepreneurship Relations Department of Lorestan University.

The director of the Community and Entrepreneurship Relations Department of Lorestan University is Dr. Meysam Doostizadeh.
