A collaboration meeting between the Faculty of Natural Resources, Lorestan University, and the Public Participation Office of the Department of Environment was held.

In order to strengthen scientific and executive collaborations for environmental protection, a joint meeting was held between the Head of the Public Participation and Social Responsibilities Office of the Department of Environment and the faculty members of the Faculty of Natural Resources, Lorestan University.
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, on Wednesday, April 29th of the current year, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Bazgir, Head of the Public Participation and Social Responsibilities Office of the Department of Environment, along with the experts of this office, accompanied by Dr. Zand, Deputy Director of Natural Environment of the General Department of Environmental Protection of Lorestan, and Engineer Zolfaghari, Head of the Department of Education and Public Participation of this General Department, attended the Faculty of Natural Resources of Lorestan University and participated in the joint meeting on expanding collaborations.
Dr. Hamed Naghavi, Head of the Faculty of Natural Resources of Lorestan University, at the beginning of the meeting, introduced and explained the potentials and scientific capacities of the faculty.
Then, Dr. Morteza Ghobadi, Director of the Environmental House of Lorestan University, presented a report on the activities carried out in the field of education and public participation for environmental protection.
Dr. Ghobadi, referring to the specialized programs of the University's Environmental House, explained: "The active environmental organizations of this university, by holding training and empowerment courses for various groups, including students, local communities, nomads, villagers, tourists, village councilors, councils, environmental guards, and employees of executive agencies, have taken effective steps in promoting environmental culture."
In this meeting, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Bazgir, Head of the Public Participation and Social Responsibilities Office of the Department of Environment, while appreciating the actions of the Faculty of Natural Resources and the Environmental House of Lorestan University, described these activities as unique and unparalleled and emphasized the need to utilize the successful experiences of this center in other parts of the country.
He considered the effective communication between scientific centers, executive agencies, and public organizations as one of the necessities for success in participatory environmental governance and stated: "The Faculty of Natural Resources of Lorestan University can be selected as a pilot for training local communities for participatory protection of natural areas, and the necessary funds for educational activities will be provided."
The mentioned meeting concluded with an agreement to continue joint collaborations and expand educational and participatory programs in the field of environment.
