The Faculty of Natural Resources at Lorestan University held the Environmental Governance Chair.

The Faculty of Natural Resources, Lorestan University, held a promotional scientific chair titled "Environmental Governance; Challenges and Solutions" on the occasion of Research and Technology Week.
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, this scientific session was presented by Dr. Morteza Ghobadi, a faculty member of the Department of Environmental Engineering and Director of the Environmental House of Lorestan University.
In this scientific chair, important and challenging topics such as the state of environmental governance, the challenges facing environmental governance in Iran and the world, the characteristics of good environmental governance, and solutions for achieving desirable governance in this field were raised and discussed.
In the initial section, the concept of environmental governance was defined and explained, emphasizing that environmental governance means the process of decision-making and implementation of environmental policies in which the role of various stakeholders, including the government, the private sector, and civil society, is important.
Dr. Morteza Ghobadi, by analyzing the current situation, pointed out the most important internal and global challenges in this field. He cited challenges such as the weakness in inter-sectoral coordination, lack of financial resources, climate change, destruction of natural resources, and lack of attention to the principles of sustainable development.
Subsequently, Dr. Ghobadi introduced the characteristics of good environmental governance and presented principles such as transparency, accountability, public participation, observance of intergenerational equity, and evidence-based management as its fundamental pillars.
In the chair, Dr. Ghobadi analyzed practical solutions for improving environmental governance in Iran and the world.
These solutions include strengthening monitoring systems, increasing public awareness, strengthening international cooperation, and using new technologies in environmental management.
Dr. Morteza Ghobadi emphasized the importance of implementing good environmental governance to achieve sustainable development and stated: "All relevant institutions should help improve environmental conditions in the country by adopting a comprehensive approach."
