Holding Joint Meetings of the Faculty of Natural Resources, University of Lorestan, with the General Directorate of Natural Resources and the Lorestan Regional Water Company

On the occasion of Research and Technology Week, and in line with the university's social responsibility, the Faculty of Natural Resources of Lorestan University hosted meetings with the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of Lorestan Province and the Lorestan Regional Water Company.
According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, these meetings were held with the aim of strengthening scientific communication, implementing joint research projects, and developing applied and demand-driven collaborations.
The main topics of the meetings included the following:
1- Strengthening Scientific Communication:
Emphasis on constructive interaction between the Faculty and the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of the province and the Lorestan Regional Water Company for the exchange of knowledge and experience.
2- Supporting Demand-Driven Theses:
Agreement on providing financial and scientific support for graduate theses related to the executive and operational needs of the province.
3- Implementation of Article 14 Research Projects:
Emphasis on cooperation in conducting research projects in the fields of water, forests, rangelands, and watershed management, and the allocation of necessary credits.
4- Study Opportunities for Faculty Members:
Creating platforms for joint research and study opportunities in order to transfer scientific and operational experiences.
5- Holding the National Hydrology Conference of Iran:
Planning to hold this conference by the Faculty of Natural Resources with the support of the Lorestan Regional Water Company and other executive bodies of the province.
In this regard, Dr. Ali Haghighizadeh, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources of Lorestan University, told our reporter: "The Faculty of Natural Resources, with its specialized groups in various fields of natural resources and watershed management at the graduate level, including comprehensive watershed management, floods and rivers, water resources, soil and water conservation, urban watershed management, and forests, is capable of playing an effective role alongside the executive sector."
He added: "In the meeting with the General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management of the province, the issue of the Faculty of Natural Resources' participation in conducting the research and study projects of the General Directorate of Natural Resources of Lorestan was discussed. Also, the establishment of joint promotional chairs with the aim of expanding public and specialized awareness in the field of forests, rangelands, and watershed management was agreed upon."
Dr. Haghighizadeh stated: "These meetings are an important step towards strengthening inter-sectoral cooperation and utilizing the scientific and executive capacities of Lorestan province."
