Rouhollah Nourmohammadi, a doctoral student in the Animal Science Department of the Faculty of Agriculture, successfully defended his dissertation. Rouhollah Nourmohammadi, a doctoral student in the Animal Science Department, Poultry Nutrition, defended his dissertation on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Faculty of Agriculture, Lorestan University. The student's dissertation, entitled "The Role of Acidic, Alkaline, and Enzymatic Diets, as well as Feed Form, on Ileal Digestibility of Nutrients and Partitioning of Metabolizable Energy in Broiler Chickens," was accepted by the jury. The results of this dissertation showed that adding 30 grams of citric acid per kilogram of feed improved growth indices, while the use of calcium hydroxide caused delayed growth and reduced digestibility. Also, feed form and the enzyme xylanase can be a suitable strategy to reduce carcass fat and prevent energy loss in broiler chickens. This dissertation was completed under the guidance of Dr. Heshmatollah Khosravinia, Professor of the Animal Science Department, and the consultation of Dr. Nazar Afzali, Professor at Birjand University and a current representative of the Islamic Consultative Assembly. In the qualitative evaluation of the dissertation, Dr. Ali Asghar Saki, Professor at Bu-Ali Sina University of Hamedan, was present as an external evaluator, and Dr. Ali Kiani and Dr. Bahman Parizadian were present as internal evaluators. At the end of the ceremony, on behalf of Dr. Abdolhossein Rezaeinejad, Vice President for Education and Research of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Dr. Majid Khaledari, Head of the Animal Science Department, plaques of appreciation and souvenirs were awarded to the student in recognition of his research activities. It is noteworthy that 27 doctoral students in Animal and Poultry Science, in the field of nutrition, are currently studying in this faculty.
